E-mail filters "Stop word" means "stop phrase" too?

Hello, in E-mail filters section (:2222/user/email/filters)
i can filter by a Stop word, but this naming neither its description under question mark button does explain if i can use phrase and if i should use quotation marks around it. Also it is not apparent if it will filter both message body and message subject or even e-mail address of the sender.
