Please consider adding an Admin/Reseller GUI option to import IMAP email from another host to the DA account. It must have the ability to customise some settings and selection of folders etc.
Sorry but I seem to see your recurring comment on a couple of feedback post. Clearly you are not happy with the Pro Pack, we get it. However that enable DirectAdmin to ensure continuous development of new features and security fixes, especially because all these 20 years old lifetime license aren't funding anything with the exploding cost of today's operation. It isn't like you are limited, you can develop your own pluggin, using the available pluggin system, and even open source them if you want others to get that feature for free, and provide the commercial level of support that people expect for it, all for free with your own time. You could also choose another web control panel, you're not vendor locked-in, but I think that I speak for the vast majority of dc/business users here, it simply make sense to have a specific reasonable cost and then be able to have "commercial expectations" than simply trying to "cheap-away" by any mean necessary, to not pay an extra penny, even if that mean continuing to run that Windows 95 with Internet Exploder in 2022.
Really ? Years ago you sell a product with lifetime license and today u try to say that we trying to "cheap-away" ? Thats funny, maby define lifetime license first ...
I dont mind to buy any extensions like pro pack if i needed but you put any request (almost any request) into propack. It was you decision back then to sell lifetime licenses, not my ... I'm your custommer, a very happy one because the product is great! But i'm bit woried now how you trying to make us feel shame ... because we bought lifetime license when you promoted it ...
And in the end yes I'm not happy that you put everythink into pro pack but I'm still verry happy as custommer and please dont try to change this perspective
I and I think most of others have nothing against pro pack - really, I will be very happy to pay but $200 for pro pack is too much, especially when considering that I work on a companu that has more than 1000 DirectAdmin lifetime licenses than paying yearly $200 per license is singnificant, if that will be for example $2 - $5 / year per license or for example $1000 to cover all licenses on the account it will be reasonable for us, we don't need support except when we find bug,. So... making money - OK - making such kind of money - not..
Additionally - when you announced pro pack you said that the features would be for pro, like python, nginx unit etc. if that's would be true than... ;) but if you try to told us that user that will use imapsync is a pro user because of this - well this is ridiculous. Moreover on the DirectAdmin forum I saw the post where someone stated that additional PHP versions could be available... ofcourse as a pro-pack... yeah - really the client hosted 10 year old site on PHP 5.4 is a pro user - sure ;) etc etc etc.
This wow would help a lot with a current client I have where the host she was using has disappeared so can login the WP to get the data off of that, but gets little complicated with the email accounts.
Adding a simple GUI interface to something like imapsync would be very useful for end user migrations to ensure email is synchronized before/after dns changes. Plesk includes this and a lot of our staff have found this to be a useful tool for not only internal usage, but also for customer self service. Bonus points for accepting/syncing multiple mailboxes at once.
I like this idea, and it will greatly simplify several situations when migrating customers from other control panels. Email resync seems to be one of the most common post-migration requests, so this can help ensure smoother onboarding for new DirectAdmin users.
