Hey i think this feature would really be amazing -
cPanel as a tool for migrating servers via Live transfer that transfer account to another server, than suspnded the account in the original server and create a proxy to the new server.
I think in case of server upgrade, migration and etc.. this option be extremely useful instead of having "cold backup" for transfer and migrate and let client know "Dont make changes cause we work with cold backup"
working with a tool like cpanel has for "hot" backup and migrate the traffic to newer machine once the migration of the account completed be an extremely needed and useful feature

Highly needed feature, this what holding us back from migrating from cpanel servers to direct admin.

I agree, there should be a transfer tool for DA to DA because there is no reason why it should be manual. Secondly, lets also have a CP to DA transfer tool in the DA admin panel.

There is no simple migration tool for DA such as for cpanel, this is needed!

Another vote for this as it's the main reason for stopping us from migrating large shared servers over to DA.

It could work like this:

1. DA connects to the cPanel server and generates a backup minus the home dir. It would then convert the account to DA format and restore on the DA server

2. DA rsync's the contents of public_html, mail, and other needed dirs over to the correct destination on DA server

3. Perform a transfer of all DB's under the account

4. Update DNS zone on the cPanel server to point the account to the DA server

This should result in minimal, if any, discrepancies between the source and destination server.

I would like this too! We currently use a 3rd party DA plugin to do cPanel migrations live but its insanly slow and much quicker to do it ourselves manually! It would be great if DA introduced a really good migration tool for DA to DA, or cPanel to DA & bonus Plesk to DA that supports concurrent account moves similar to cPanel's migration tool.

This would be most useful, especially for big companies ditching cPanel who want to fully convert to DA servers. This would work so much better than cold backups as OP stated and would make the transition much better for the end user as well.

This is very very essential feature that direct admin need to consider implementing.Directadmin to direct admin transfer is very time consuming and complicated.In cpanel it is very just click of mouse.
