Support for e-mail sub-addressing (plus addressing)

Hi,
I am requesting support for sub-addressing of e-mails. Example: A user has the e-mail address user@example.com and would like to join a mailing list. When the user enters the address user+mailinglist@example.com, the mails automatically gets routed to the account "user", without the need of actually creating the e-mail address "user+mailinglist@example.com".
