Something like - www.20i.com/support/migrations-and-transfers/migrate-using-20i-migration-centre - would be excellent for DirectAdmin. Same with the email migration, a plugin on the dashboard that could migrate from different panels and also emails through IMAP etc. www.20i.com/support/email-hosting/migrate-emails

This task seems to be in slow motion or just ignored. It's really not possible to do mass migration from other control panels at this time - no one sane will spend countless hours using archives. It's a shame that 2 years have passed and this task is not even planned, not to mention under execution. It seems very likely that some of us might get their beards to the ground and even retire and not yet see this tool. It's really sad .

Yes, such plugin/module is really required to migrate from cPanel/Plesk with support of GUI, Command line or both.

Thanks Dennis, Could not say it better than that myself. We are a Norwegian hosting company and currently use PLESK, the main reason is our market, but also the tools that are in the hands of us providers, such as e-mail migration, account migration / migration of websites from different panels.
For us, it makes sense to have a tool like this, if DA had this, it would be an easy exchange and transfer and an clear decisions for us to move all our accounts over to DA.
Personally, I love DA not only because of a reasonable price, but everything in general.
Makes it easier for us to choose good software.

Yes exactly, I agree completely. The more 'capable' DirectAdmin can make the migration / transfer process, the more doors they will open for new clients.
Agree also, I think the cost is always a factor, but more importantly - the more clients on board at DirectAdmin, the bigger the development I would assume, and the more succesful they become (which we all want).
I fully trust they wouldn't make the same stupid, rediculous mistakes made by cPanel in terms of their 'model' changes on their pricing - per user is a rediculous model, and they should have just increased their per-server licencing charges. But, greedy bastards they are, unfortunately!
But, rant aside, I have seen first hand in our own business, how migration 'simplicity' speeds up growth. We built our own solution for migrating clients away from other cPanel hosts to ourselves, and it worked fantastically well.
The easier the process, the more accessible the solution becomes in my eyes, so DA please give this one your highest attention after the existing developments.

This one is crucial -
cPanel are increasing their pricing in January (again), which will force most providers to increase their own cPanel plans also.
As part of any increase, clients want options to save money, and DirectAdmin is the perfect choice.
The solution has come on leaps and bounds, and the solution is an ideal replacement for those clients who are familiar with cPanel.
However, the man-hours involved in migrating accounts is just too significant to make it practical.
If you can create a transfer tool to simplify the process, it would make complete sense to offer all clients the alternative.
We as providers are having to hold back on marketing efforts to push DirectAdmin as a service, due to the resource required to handle migrations between those solutions.
If this could be given some priority, that would be great.

Don't why after so many years Directadmin still didn't implement this much needed feature.
This is very important tool for every Host
And not just "cPanel to DirectAdmin" and "Plesk to Direct Admin"
It also needs to be compatible for DA to DA as well.
I'm sure DA will get tons of new clients if they provide a live migration tool..

Please include a tool to transfer accounts between DA servers. cPanel have this tool for a long time. And this will save lot of time.

Having a script/method to "live"-migrate data from (dA|cP) to dA (as opposed to backing data up, transferring, converting from cP to dA backup format, restoring, then re-syncing potentially out-of-date files/databases/email/etc.) would be extremely handy.

DA to DA transfer is already present. Admin/backup transfer can do this easily.
As for others. Nice feature, if DA would do this, DA would be the only panel doing this, because cP and Plesk certainly don't.

Yes both cpanel and plesk do this. They have a transfer tool which connects to the target server an does it all automatically and it supports all the major panels.

Ah oke sorry. I didn't find the cPanel one before and the Plesk is just a couple of years, so that's why I missed that.
However DA to DA can be done via admin backup/transfer. Just requires a bit of manuel action which is i.mho better to monitor things if something goes wrong.
I will upvote because it's good if cP and Plesk auto-import would be a nice addition in any case.
